Short version: Layouto does not collect, store, or transmit your keystrokes or text. All layout detection and correction happen locally on your Mac.
None. Layouto collects no personal data. In App Store terms, our App Privacy label is Data Not Collected. There are no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs that receive your data.
To detect a wrong keyboard layout, Layouto reads key codes through a listen-only system event tap and renders them under the enabled layouts. This happens in memory, on your device only. Your keystrokes and the text you type are never logged to disk, never sent over the network, and never shared with us or anyone else.
Word validation uses Apple's built-in local spell checker (NSSpellChecker) on your Mac. No text leaves your device for this.
Correction works entirely offline. The only network activity is subscription purchase and validation, which is handled by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes those transactions under Apple's own privacy policy; we do not receive your name, email, or payment details.
Your preferences, protected terms, and text replacements are stored locally in the app's sandbox container on your Mac. You can edit or remove them at any time in the app. Deleting the app removes this data.
Layouto is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
We will update this page if the app's data practices change. Questions: support@layouto.app.
